I am NOT gossiping!
By Megan, Friend of Kelly Flynn in
Maggie Sefton's SKEIN OF THE CRIME
Hey, you guys---I've only got a minute. Kelly will be right back. She's gone to the cafe for some of Pete's great coffee, but I know Kelly. She'll chat with Jennifer, who's taking a break from waiting tables. Anyway. . .I grabbed Kelly's laptop and found this blog she'd talked about. I wanted to give you guys some info about what's been going on in Kelly's life. . .and why we. . . Kelly's friends. . .are worried.
Okay, I guess I need to introduce myself. I'm Megan Stroud, computer & tech geek. Kelly always comes to me whenever she needs major help in seaching out Web info when she's sleuthing. That's what her friends and I call it when Kelly's investigating a murder. Not that she's supposed to, mind you. She's poked her nose in WAY too many dangerous situations, if you ask me. . .but that's another story.
Right now, I wanted to give you an update on what's been happening since, well. . .since Kelly and Steve's breakup. First. . .let me make it clear. I wanted to strangle Steve when I learned about it. I was SO mad. How could he be so stupid to do that! He knew how much Kelly cared for him. And believe me, I really laid into him when Steve finally dared show his head back in Fort Connor. Uh, huh. Didn't come to see any of us for a month.
Oh, yeah. . ."us" is the gang. Me and my boyfriend, Marty, Lisa and her boyfriend, Greg, Kelly and Steve, and Jennifer and Pete. Yeah, Pete the cafe owner. I am SO happy they're together, but we'lll have to talk about that another time. Anyway. . .Steve finally showed up at Lisa and Greg's house and. . .well, Lisa and I let him have it. We couldn't help it. We were SO mad! Anyway. . . Steve knows it. He knows he screwed up BIG TIME. We all started giving him advice. . .uh, oh. I think I heard Kelly's voice. Darn! I didn't think she'd come back so soon. I'd better log out now. Don't want Kelly to know I'm gossiping about her. . .outside of the gang that is. Maybe Jennifer can find a moment to fill you in----
"Oh, hi. Didn't think you'd mind if I checked my email. . ." ----end of transmission
