Why Does She Get All the Attention Now?

by Abby Rose

There was a time I had all my creator's attention. She spent hours with me and we solved some real interesting cases. Oh. I forgot. I'm Abby Rose, I'm adopted and I became an adoption P.I. thanks to Leann Sweeney. Basically your cold cases, 'cause some of my investigations take me back decades. But then Leann went to the BIGGER city, bigger than Houston. Yankee town--aka The Big Apple--and had a meeting with that lady who makes all the decisions. Well, guess what? I'm sitting on the back burner now. No stories for me these days. Am I jealous of Leann's new best friend Jillian Hart? Let me put it this way. If she gets ants in her house, I want termites. You betcha I'm jealous.

Not that I don't understand. Leann's had her troubles. Stinkin' Lyme disease and other stuff. She can't do more than one big story in a year. But I want y'all to know that I'm still working, my twin Kate still helps me and Jeff Kline has a strangle hold on my heart. But I miss y'all and one day I promise I'll be back. Meanwhile, tell me the favorite thing my daddy used to say. I know you've heard me say plenty about him. He was a wise old man.

  1. Hi Abby,

It's good to hear that you're doing well, even if we don't get to read about all your adventures.

  2. Abby Rose, how nice to see you here. I love your stories. I am also an adopted person and your books really resonate with me.

I hope that one of these days Leann will bring you back. I know she's very busy with her second series. It's also very successful. Keep on sleuthin', girl, and we'll be waiting for you!

  3. My favorite quote "It's hot enough to toast the toes of an armadillo" Paraphrasing of course.

  4. Hi, my name is Alex St. James. I *was* my author's favorite character to spend time with until Ollie Paras took her attention away. Now the new girl, Grace, has come around. I don't think my author will ever get back to me at this rate. And hey, I'm adopted too. The next adventure was supposed to give me a clue about my biological parents but that's on a far back burner now, too!

Thanks for popping in here. It's really nice to meet you.

  5. Thanks y'all. It's hotter than hell's door handle here today in Texas, so I'm being lazy. I'll leave Jeff to chase down killers in the summer.

  6. It is wonderful to hear from you Abby. I love the whole premise of your series, finding parents and or adopted people. I miss your series very much and wish there was a new story. All in good time I suppose.
My favorite saying from your father is, "Always finish what you start Abby Girl." once you start a job, don't give up.

  7. I've been wondering about you, Abby. Didn't realize that Leann had Lyme disease and I hope she does well. I'm also in a position to know about not doing everything I want to. Your adventures are great and I know that the lady who makes the decisions will one day bring you back.

  8. Oh, Abby....that's too bad....I really love your stories! Maybe your company needs to come up with some super-duper technology so she can just sit and dictate your stories and the computer will do more of the grunt work. You'll be back, I'm sure!

  9. Hi Abby, It's so nice to hear from you again. I'm sure Leann will get back to you and your next adventure will be a blast.

  10. Abby Rose, I'm betting you will get more print time, you are too fascinating a character to keep quiet for long!
