Here's the thing. My mom has been
widowed for ten years. In that time,
she has never gone on a date. No, not
even one. You see my dad, Charlie
Cooper, was always the life of the
party, and there was not a day in their
married life that he didn't make my
mom laugh. When his cigar loving
size twelves stomped off to the big
steakhouse in the sky, well, he was
a tough act to follow.
Now, I know I should be happy for her, but I can't help feeling like every worried
parent when their daughter goes on her first date. Is there a man good enough
for my mom? Not hardly.
Uh oh, mom just called me from her date. Slight problem -- he's dead!
