Going Crazy

By Steve Townsend in Maggie Sefton's
SKEIN OF THE CRIME, Book 8, in the
Kelly Flynn Knitting Mystery Series

Okay, guys---Megan and Jennifer have both been ragging on me to stop by this blog and check it out. I know those two. When they say "check it out," they mean stay a while and talk to you guys. I don't mind talking as long as we get one thing straight. I don't want to talk about Kelly. Or why I walked out a few months ago. Or, what was I thinking? Or, how could I walk out on a great girl like Kelly. . .stuff like that.

I guess I'm talked out. Megan, Marty, Lisa, Greg, Jennifer and Pete aleady worked me over. The girls took turns beating up on me. I can understand. I deserved it. Meanwhile, I try not to think about it. That's another reason I work so much. By the time I drag myself back to my Denver apartment at night, I'm too tired to think. Usually.

Look. . .I admit. . .I lost it. My business was going down the toilet, and I couldn't save it. And. . .I guess I went a little crazy. Okay. . .a lot crazy. Then I acted really stupid. And wound up losing the best thing I've ever had. Kelly. And the life we had together.

What was I thinking? I wasn't. If I was, it wouldn't have happened. I told you. . .I went a little crazy for a while.

Haven't you ever gone "a little crazy" sometimes?

  1. I've done some crazy things and have had regrets. We grow from that.

Steve, you now know what you have to do. Let's hope she can forgive you.

  2. I'm wondering if my decision to leave the life I know in NYC and move to Threadville is "a little crazy."

I guess we have to figure out what we really want, and then how to get it. If it's still not right, maybe we have to adjust our actions or our goals. Easier said than done. Good luck, Steve!

  5. I dunno, Dru. The gang's said she was pretty mad. She probably wouldn't even talk to me, even if I called. . . .which I haven't.
