A Merry Murder?

I never really thought of myself as a domestic diva. I just like to cook and entertain. Seriously, who doesn't like being surrounded by friends? Most of my entertaining is quite casual. We gather in my kitchen, which you can see on the cover of my latest escapade THE DIVA COOKS A GOOSE. I adore having a fireplace in my kitchen. It's so cozy there. Not that I don't like throwing the occasional fancy dinner in my dining room. I'm lucky to live in a big, old historic house with fireplaces in almost every room!

This Christmas Eve, I'll be roasting a goose for a big family dinner in my dining room. My brother George and his wife, Lacy, will be hosting the family on Christmas Day. Their daughter, Jen, is bound to be spoiled by all her grandparents. I'm looking forward to a day of family and celebrating when I don't have to do all the work!

THE DIVA COOKS A GOOSE is hitting bookstores as we speak. I've had a sneak preview, and let's just say that not everything goes as well as planned. Poor Lacy, she's such a perfectionist, making all those lists and micro-managing everything. Just like my mother! Who, incidentally, promptly examines my fingers for an engagement ring from Wolf. She just can't understand that I'm content with my life as a single woman. My sister, Hannah, makes her happy, though, because she has her eye on a new man and this time, he's not a complete creep like that horrible Craig she married.

I'm sorry to say that a murder mars our holiday. What a mess. Lacy's family is in big trouble because more than one of them had a motive. I won't spoil it for you by telling you more, but it's quite a Christmas!

Are you hosting Christmas this year or do you get the day off like I do?

Just in case you missed it before, this might give you a clue about my holiday!

  1. Our Christmas is a pot luck affair. Everyone brings their specialty dish and then we enjoy being with one another.

  2. Oh, Dru! What a great idea! No one person has to do everything. Sounds great to me.

  4. We host, but so far it's just Lady K, DH and myself. We might get some last minute guests and that's okay.
I would love a house large enough to have a fireplace in every room. We are lucky to have one in the family room and one day maybe get that larger home with one in the kitchen, bedrooms.....
Good to know Hannah is moving on. Just read DIVA RUNS OUT OF THYME and really did not like Craig. Glad you and Wolf are hitting it off nicely. Don't let your mom push you into something too soon. {HUGS} Enjoy the holidays, murder or no.

  5. Love the trailer! And huge congrats on the new book!

Two Christmases past, I passed the torch to my daughter who has a bigger better space for our gang of 24 or so. It's easier for everyone.

I bring two turkeys, stuffing, gravy and a dessert and it seems like I am getting a day off. No dishes for me and I never want to give up cooking turkey. Love that aroma.
