Movin' On Up

Hi Y’all!

My name is Angelica Roy, but you can call me Angel just like everyone else. I own a beauty salon, Angel Cuts, in Paris, TN just down the street from Miss Arabella and Sweet Nothings, her lingerie shop. You might have heard of it on account of a murder having taken place there recently. That sure got us all worked up.

I grew up right here in Paris, drinking sweet tea and flirting with the boys. My mama raised me and my four brothers. She did mending and alterations to make ends meet. My papa worked in the factory and when he got laid off, it darned near killed him. I decided then and there that I was going to have my own business no matter what.

Some people look down on me because all I do is cut hair, give perms and turn brunettes blonde, but I’m what they call an entrepreneur. I have big plans even if nobody don’t know it. I live above my shop in a tiny apartment that I’ve fixed up real nice for myself and whoever my latest cuddle is. I’ve got me a splendid flat screen TV, real comfortable furniture and a couple of sets of satin sheets. Meanwhile, I’m putting as much of my money away at the local savings and loan as I can manage. I have big plans, and I’m going to need the cash to do it. I don’t mind making a few sacrifices to make my dreams come true.

How about you? Do you have big dreams? What are you willing to do to make them come true?

  2. Right on, girl! It took me a while to believe that I could achieve my dreams. I envy those who got it together young!

  3. The Angelica in my yard is blooming right now - a lovel halo of flowers at the top. Its thorny, straight trunks give it another name, though - Devil's Walking Stick. Just thought you'd like to know.

  4. Hey, Angel! I'm just starting to create some new dreams of my own. I really feel like a late-bloomer and for some reason, wouldn't want it any other way...
