Summertime Plotting

by Kelly Flynn from UNRAVELED, June 2011, the latest in

Maggie Sefton's Knitting Mysteries, Book 9 in the series

Hey, there! This is Megan, Kelly's friend, and I'm stealing a few minutes on her laptop to update you folks on what's happening here. If you've been keeping up with our adventures with the latest episodes in UNRAVELED, then you already know that Kelly and Steve finally got the opportunity to talk to each other in Denver. At last! I swear, I was about to smack both of them.

But those meetings in Denver gave them a chance to start talking again. And deal with the elephant in the room (aka Their Breakup). A-hem. It was about time. And that crazy volleyball game Kelly and Steve and I got to play in when we stayed over in Denver one night really helped release a lot of that built-up tension or whatever between them. There they were. . .right across the net from each other, face to face, both playing to win. . .for opposite teams. Nothing like a little competition to get the juices running. Oh, yeah.

Man. . .I couldn't stop smiling. Kelly swore she was gonna put a bag over my head after the game was over. I couldn't help it. Watching Kelly and Steve start taunting each other and playing against each other. . .I loved it! Because I knew that was just the beginning. They would start working their way back to each other. I KNOW they will. :)

If you don't believe me, you read that scene in UNRAVELED and tell me what you think. Marty teases me, but he wants them back together again. We all do. Lisa, Greg, Jennifer, Pete, all of their friends and everybody at Lambspun knitting shop.

I gave Steve a "thumbs up" sign as I left the gym that night, behind Kelly's back, of course. He grinned. And. . .Marty just told me Steve called after that and asked when summer baseball practice starts. That means Steve will be coming back to Fort Connor regularly this summer! Which means he and Kelly will get more chances to, well. . .work their way back together.

So. . .the plotting begins. Boy, this is gonna be fun! Wish us luck.

  1. Some plotting can be a bit dangerous...but it's always irresistible when it comes to romancing.
    Good luck!

  5. From Megan, sneaking Kelly's laptop again:

Thanks, Erika. We'll do our best. And we're sneaky.

Donna and Karen--You're both right. They do belong together. And we won't quit "helping" until they are.

Annette---That's our Gang's "secret weapon." We're gonna make all our suggestions just plain fun. . .that way Steve & Kelly won't get suspicious. Keep your fingers crossed.

  6. I like it. It was kind of funny, especially about Megan wanting to smack Kelly and Steve.

It would be nice if they got back together, but you never know what a couple is going through. I remember when I was a teenager I thought that my friend's aunt would marry her boyfriend, but they eventually broke up.
