I’m still stuffed from the enormous Thanksgiving meal Aunt Arabella prepared for us—turkey, pies and all the trimmings. But I have to confess that my favorite season is just starting—the very thought of Christmas gives me goose bumps! I’ll never forget my first Christmas in New York City. It was awesome—fabulous decorations everywhere. I walked miles and miles enjoying the windows and the lights. I didn’t care how cold it was!
The tree at Rockefeller Center (or, Rock Center as the New Yorkers call it!) was amazing. Larger than anything you’ve ever seen and strung with ornaments and thousands of lights. And just down the street, the famous jeweler, Cartier, is all wrapped up in gigantic red ribbons and bows. Then, there are the windows at Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor.
But this year, I’m excited about Christmas back home in Paris, Tennessee. I can sit on the window seat in my little apartment over Sweet Nothings and look up and down the street admiring the lights, wreaths and decorations the shop keepers so lovingly put up for all of us to enjoy.
And my parents will be coming up from Florida, and we’ll all be together at Aunt Arabella’s for another one of her amazing feasts.
And best of all? Brian is already hinting that he has a present for me. I wonder what it is?
