written by Hayley Snow from the Key West food critic mysteries by Lucy Burdette
I have to agree with what Pepper Martin said yesterday--our writers lead a crazy life and drag us right along with them!
For example, Lucy Burdette, my writer, told me we were going to have lunch with a tarot card reader a couple of weeks ago. As you might have read, my mother is a big believer in the wisdom of the cards and I've inherited that gene. But to have lunch with the card reader? I've never been so nervous. What if he saw something awful I had coming in my life as I was eating my fish sandwich and felt he just had to tell me?
Anyway, I enjoyed meeting the guy and my author took notes like crazy. And he said the most interesting things like: "I shed light on the dark side" and "Key West is a magical place--either it embraces you or chews you up and spits you out."
Talk about a big "sheesh." I sure hope I'm one of the ones that gets embraced...And here I thought this food critic gig was all about eating. Anyway, I'll keep you posted.
PS You'll never believe this, but this week we're going to have lunch with a drag queen.

And just for fun, here's a link for a three-card Tarot reading. And we recommend Jane Stern's book Confessions of a Tarot Card Reader: Practical Advice from this Realm and Beyond.
