Everyone’s talking about Mother’s Day coming up this
weekend! I’ll add my thoughts because it’s doubly special for me. First of all,
I’m so thankful to be able to spend it with my mama, even though she’s probably
not aware I’m with her. It’s been a very long time since I felt we really
connected, what with her illness but I still value the weekly visits with her
and especially, the wonderful memories from my happy childhood.
The other person I celebrate is my dear friend Molly Mathews. She was actually
a good friend of my grandmamma Beata and then just took over when mama got so
bad. She arranged for the wonderful home for her and she took me under her
wing. I’ll always be grateful. And, she’s such a wonderful person, I keep
hoping it will rub off on me.
I feel so badly that she was suspected of murder in A Killer
Read and I know, even though I probably shouldn’t say, that she’s in jeopardy
in the upcoming book, Read & Buried. I do worry about her.
We all do. That’s why the members of the Ashton Corners Mystery
Readers & Cheese Straws Society are ready to tackle any crime to help save
one of our own. Besides, it’s really a lot of fun.
I hope you’ll be celebrating this Sunday with someone
very special!

Read & Buried coming Dec., 2012 from Berkley Prime Crime
I'm sure my mother in South Carolina would appreciate a visit, but I can't get away from In Stitches, my machine embroidery boutique in northwestern Pennsylvania, and she's up for re-election this year and wouldn't be able to spare time from her campaigning. Thanks for the reminder, though. I'll send flowers and a card, and will try to call her.
