Guest Post by Nicola Trwst

Hi All- I'm on vacation with my family in Montana - but if you'd like to check  in with me you will find regular update on Hope you're having a great summer and enjoy meeting my friend!

Marin County is one of the richest counties in the country. How would I know? Good question. I know this because my best friend and colleague, Haylee, is there doing a story on the famous Belvedere Club and she’s just ruined the hottest date I’ve had in two years by insisting I fly out west.

My name’s Briana Kaleigh. I live in Washington, D.C. where we like our lattes scalding, our police meaner than Satan, and our politicians dirtier than the Chesapeake Bay. How else would I make a living? I’m a photo-journalist for the District Dispatch. I used to be a journalist, but my idiotic editor demoted me. I don’t think he likes me.

So here, in the middle of the night, I sit in a plane at National Airport, delayed because of a snow storm. I just read my friend Haylee’s first installment of her Belvedere Club article and for the life of me can’t figure why she needs a photographer. What am I suppose to shoot? Chiffon hats and lace gloves?

She mentioned our code word, Pulitzer. It doesn’t actually refer to winning the coveted prize (although one can hope). It means the story is one that will raise questions and cause chaos within the status quo. My favorite kind, and oddly, as rare as an honest newscaster.

Voice message again. I’ve called her three times to let her know about the delay and she’s not answering. It’s not that late on the West Coast either. Where is she?

If you’d like to find out the fate of Haylee, you’ll find The Belvedere Club at Amazon
