Stand By Your Man?

The Domestic Diva Mysteries

My daughter has been missing for five years. It is my firm belief that her husband murdered her. He's a cop after all. He knows how to find a body and hide evidence.

Imagine my horror upon learning that he has a new girlfriend. Sophie Winston seems like a decent young woman but she won't listen to me. You see, she knows how to get inside his house. I need to get in there to look around, but she refuses to help me.

I can't understand why a woman would stand by a killer. She even discovered my daughter's handbag buried in his backyard! What else does she need? Women don't bury their purses in their backyards. It's obvious that something terrible happened.

Nothing I say sways her. Now he has disappeared, and I have a bad feeling that she's helping him hide -- probably at her house. How can she be so blind, so stupid?

What else can I do to convince her to help me? I'm certain she knows something that could be useful in the search for my daughter.

Even worse, why can't Sophie see that she could be his next victim?

  2. How awful for you, Mona! But... I know your real objective is to find out what happened to your daughter. The police try not to 'rush to judgment' because it clouds their perception and can interfere with an investigation. As hard as it is, I think you need to open up your mind and start thinking about anyone else she may have been involved with, or who wanted her gone!

    1. Hah! Their perception is clouded because he's one of them. Their buddy, you know. If only Sophie would cooperate and see him for what he really is . . .
