A Cover Story

By Lizzie Turner from Read and Buried
An Ashton Corners Book Club Mystery

I’ve discovered that my author does a lot more than just write stories about me and the Ashton Corners Mystery Readers and Cheese Straws Society. Oh, sure…she spends a lot of time plotting and figuring out some exciting, and sometimes a bit terrifying, things to happen. To us.

But she also does a lot of  promotion. Now that there are two books out in the series, she’s often out at a book signing or off to a mystery conference hoping to interest new readers in our adventures. Or she’s at the computer but rather than paying attention to our needs, she’s on Facebook or Twitter or answering emails. Okay, sometimes she’s doing research so that’s good. But at other times, I think she needs some reining in.

Like right now, she’s going over the final edits for the next book, Cover Story. That is a legitimate and necessary task, so she’s off the hook. But I thought, while she’s distracted, I’d show you our new cover. We’re all just delighted by it! Edam and Brie are often found just staring at the copy I have posted on my bulletin board. Handsome cats, aren’t they?

Cover Story, book #3 in the series, will be out in August, 2013 and we can hardly wait. It’s always so much fun hearing what readers think about our book club and also, about the troubles Erika keeps throwing our way.

We'd also just love to hear what you think of this cover!

  1. It's beautiful! I want to walk right into it, sit down on that lovely wicker seat and have one of the cats jump up into my lap. It looks so peaceful.

  2. Lizzie, I hope it turns out to be as peaceful as it looks, but knowing our authors, uh-oh.

  3. I love it! I feel like grabbing a glass of iced tea or cold lemonade and a good book and just kicking back. So when can I move in? :)
