What to Do When the Book is Done...

By Hayley Snow from the Key West food critic mysteries by Lucy Burdette

Pant, pant, pant....so sorry I'm late! Can you believe it, my writer forgot to tell me I was supposed to put something up today. Her head is in the clouds because--ta da!--we finished our book. I'm sworn to secrecy about MURDER WITH GANACHE, but there are a lot of clues about it on our Pinterest page.

Anyway, as I was saying, she's not paying much attention to us characters because she's busy doing other things. Like clean out her closet. There were things buried in there that no one's seen since the ice age. Anyone in the market for a really cute leopard print dress that's shaped like a tent??

Oh, and she's reading too. Yesterday it was Elinor Lipman's VIEW FROM PENTHOUSE B. And the day before that, Krista Davis's THE DIVA FROSTS A CUPCAKE. And today it will be Jessica Soffer's TOMORROW THERE WILL BE CUPCAKES.  No, not cupcakes, APRICOTS! All that, she says, is research; maybe she'll get a good idea.

At least we're having cookies--almond cloud. You'll see them soon on Mystery Lovers Kitchen.

I better get going in case we go back to work.

What kinds of things do you do to celebrate finishing a project?

    1. I think she's stewing on something Willow, but if you can imagine, it doesn't involve me! xo Hayley

  4. After I finish one or more of my hand-painted glass wine bottles I usually celebrate with something good to eat. While I paint, I just concentrate on that each day (they take a few days each with drying time in between, but I work on multiples so don't take many breaks). Making a pie is usually tops on my list and after having a slice (or two) I start another painting project. :)

  6. I depends on the project. Hard labor, pass out on my bed. Finishing a review, sit back with happiness and smile.
