Summer Bucket List

Summer Bucket List

Reagan Summerside here and thinking where the heck has summer gone? I just took down my summer display in the front bay window of the Prissy Fox Consignment Shop and put up denim.

Trouble is I’m not ready to let summer go so I made a summer bucket list, a list of things I want to do once more before fall sets in.

I want to do another outside barbecue with ribs and chicken on the grill. I swear you could BBQ a stick and I’d eat it. I love the smell of BBQ over an open fire and the meat sizzling over the flames.

And I want to make ice cream over at Auntie KiKi’s. She has one of those old ice cream tubs where you put the cream in the middle cylinder then add ice and salt around the edges and crank away. I need one more mouthful of creamy heaven.

I want to take another picnic out to Tybee Island and eat on the sandy shore. I love Tybee and only made it to the ocean three times this year. Barely enough to get my toes wet.
And while I’m out on Tybee I want a funnel cake with powdered sugar on top and a red snow cone. Don’t you love funnel cakes and snow cones?

Auctions are big in Savannah and there’s the end of summer auction out at Fort Jackson. Last year I bought an old blue and pink rug for the front entrance of the Prissy Fox. Got it for next to nothing. Love auctions.

I want to see fireworks over the Savannah River, get Auntie KiKi to make me the last Lemon Meringue pie of the summer and see if I can get Walker Boone to take me for one more ride in his red ’57 Chevy convertible.

So what’s on your summer bucket list? Got anything you want to do before summer’s over? Let me know and I’ll give away two Killer in Crinoline totes from the answers.

Have a good summer…what’s left of it.
Hugs, Reagan

  1. Hi Reagan. I've read both of your adventures and loved, loved, loved them. You rock! Can't wait to see what you get yourself in for the next time. Let's see -- what did I cross of my bucket list this summer? Two road races that's what. Only 3.5 miles each but the weather was in the 90s and lots of hills but I did both in record time. celebrated with Ben & Jerry.

    1. Hi, Mary Louise! Wonderful hearing from you. So glad you enjoyed Iced Chiffon and Killer in Crinolines. KiKi and I sure get around and that Walker Boone is more of a pain...and handsome...than every.
That you are a runner is fantastic. And you're fast. I need to do this more so I can be in shape to get the bad guys.
Have a fun weekend and enjoy the final days of summer.

    1. Hi, Candace. Yes, you and your hubby need a nice picnic with some delish food. I love cold fried chicken and potato salad. KiKi does a really mean potato salad, me not so much, I just eat. it.
That you enjoyed Killer and IC makes my day. Thanks so much. Pearls and Poison is out in March. Mamma's running for city council and her opponent winds up dead and Mamma accused of the murder. How do these things happen? Have a wonderful summer.

  5. I want to get my new patio finished so it's all ready to go in the spring. It's together enough that I just might have to have at least one bbq this summer.

  6. Auntie KiKi and I will be over for the BBQ esp if it's ribs. KiKi will make the potato salad and I'll bring Bruce Willis to clean up the scraps that hit the ground.

  7. I would love to have more times for nice long walks without bugs. One of my favorite things to do is walk nature trails with my camera and just enjoy the peace and quiet of it all. Now if only the buys would go away! Also before schools starts one extra week of to help my neighbor get her house back in order....And as always more time to read, never enough time to read!

  10. Dear Reagan: Well, for my summer list, I just wanted to get over a number of injuries from two bad falls that I had this winter, and I made up my mind that my husband and I were going to do as much as I could tolerate and most of the plans involved our beautiful and loving daughter, her husband and our three precious grandchildren. A few of the highlights: We all went on a glorious five-day trip to the Adirondacks in upstate New York and had gorgeous weather until the last morning, which didn't influence a half of a day at a Children's Museum in Saratoga Springs and then a wonderful lunch in the downtown area afterwards. Oh, and our time in Lake George was remarkable, especially our paddle boat cruise and watching all of the wind surfers flying past the boat!!! We also did some Yurt tenting and had a blast at the State Forest and going to a lovely lake and at night cooking outside and doing all kinds of fun foods on the open fire with our grandchildren. And two of our grandchildren had a joint birthday party this summer (the 6 and 10 year olds) and what a time we had!!!!! Our most fun in life now comes from being with our children and our grandchildren, and for that reason, we had a summer of blessings. Thanks for listening to me ramble, Reagan. I am kind of long winded so please excuse me.

    Sincerely,
    Cynthia
P.S. Thank goodness I had time to finish Killer in Crinolines with all of this family fun going on!!!! Loved both books in this series, so keep getting into the thick of things, Reagan, and giving us some great reading material for the next books okay??

  14. You sure will be busy doing all that Regan! I can't wait for your next book and read all about it.
My summerlist is completely different: I want to clean out the garage and other storage spaces, but my boyfriend is such a hoarder, he doesn't want me to.
