"And the seasons, they go round and round"

By Erin Murphy from Death al Dente, first in the Food Lovers' Village Mysteries, by Leslie Budewitz

And suddenly, it’s quiet in the Village. The families with children who summer here have gone home, taking with them so much of the buzz and chatter that fills the air. Town still has its own children, of course, and many visitors love Jewel Bay in September, when the skies are still blue, the hills are still green, and you can come downtown and find a parking spot on the first try.

My first summer in Jewel Bay since I was a kid was a great success in some ways, but brought with it much sadness. So I’m looking forward to September, with its gentle breezes, warm days, cooling nights, and changing colors.

Here are a few of my favorite Jewel Bay colors:
Autumn Joy sedum over Autumn the cat's grave

Echinachea
the view east
A last stray clematis bloom
the bridge into the Village

What are your favorite colors of the season?

Name the song that the title of this post comes from to be entered for a chance to win a signed copy of Death al Dente ! (And no fair using Google! Please include your email address so Leslie can contact you.)

I think the song is called 'Carousel'? or Carousel of Time? :D I designed lights to a dance piece for it once, many moons ago...
