Dictated by Quincy, The Fat Cat, from THE FAT CAT series by Janet Cantrell
I don’t understand why my human rubs my tummy and shakes her head. I know I’m adorable. She knows it. Would it really make anyone happier if I lost a pound or two? I’ll bet one of my lives not.
That doctor guy says, so sternly, that I need to reduce. My human here at the dessert bar shop agrees with him. However, I can see they all love me.
Thank Bast, the Cat Goddess, for the older human. She’s almost as sneaky as a feline when she slips treats to me. Sometimes, though, she is watched too closely and I don’t get anything. Oh well, I’m content dozing in the warm office most of the day. I know my din din will arrive on time. It’s never late. That’s the important thing, now that I get the yummy Kitty Patty added on the top. (I will admit I liked spurning the old, hard, dry food and getting all that attention.)
I’ll take a cat nap (so smart to name those after us) as soon as I check my cache under the desk. I keep stray things there, like rubber bands, paper clips, sometimes a piece of crinkly paper. Yes, my prize is still there. A nice, warm, winter glove. So fun to play with. I know she has another pair, although this may have been what she was looking for this morning before going out to ride her bike. It’s mine now. Purrrrr.
FAT CAT SPREADS OUT will be published June 2nd and can be preordered now. Please
check Janet’s webpage for links.
A booth at the Bunyan County Harvest Fair seems like the perfect opportunity for Charity "Chase" Oliver and Anna Larson to promote their Bar None bakery business. Unfortunately, plus-sized pussycat Quincy has plans for their delicious dessert bars other than selling them to customers. After tearing through their inventory, Quincy goes roaming the fairgrounds in search of more delights.
But what he finds is murder.
