Honeymoon Hi-jinks

Seriously, what female doesn't plan out her wedding for years on end. I mean, growing up I played with Barbies like my peers and I pretended she got married to Ken. Of course I planned Barbie's wedding exactly like I wanted my wedding when I grew up.

Well. . .now that I recently got married and it ended up being nothing like I had dreamed or even planned, I just knew the honeymoon was going to be amazing. The best!

What girl doesn't dream of that amazing honeymoon with her groom next to her. The long walks on the beach, staring into your man's eyes, him feeding you off his spoon and letting him rub sunscreen all over you was exactly the way I pictured my honeymoon to my sweet groom Oscar Park.
After all, we were in much need of a vacation. We hadn't been out of Whispering Falls since we had moved in after we found out we were witches. Oscar is a wizard and I'm a potion maker with an amazing intuition. It's hard to leave our little magical village of Whispering Falls in the foothills of Kentucky.

Oscar and I were able to put in a request on where we'd like to go. I picked Hawaii because I'd never been there and Oscar choose anywhere in the Caribbean. Both were good because I loved the beach and it was far away from our village and I was leaving Mr. Prince Charming, my ornery cat familiar, and Madame Torres, my snarky crystal ball, at home. It was going to be blissful.

Unfortunately, bad luck seems to follow me and the Order of Elders deemed it necessary to pick where Oscar and I went on our honeymoon. Tulip Island. Where the heck was that?

Not only is it way far away in the middle of the ocean, there are only twenty visitors allowed on the island at one time, which the Elders tell me help my chances on nothing bad happening to me.

Well. . .everything was going great on Tulip Island. It was beautiful and actually the prettiest place I'd ever seen. . . then. . .one of the other guest washed up on the beach dead, really did put a crimp in my honeymoon.

Did you have the honeymoon where you dreamed of? Leave a comment and June Heal will pick a winner to win a copy of one of the Magical Cures books in audio!

Be sure to grab the 9th book in the USA TODAY Bestselling Magical Cures Mystery series, A CHARMING HEX. It was just released and already has 18 five star reviews!

"I have to say that this book was my favorite of the series so far June's latest adventure takes her and Oscar away from the charming village of Whispering Falls to tropical Tulip Island for their honeymoon - and June has promised "no magic" while they are gone." ~ Reader Vivian.

  6. What a great review. Thank you. I lived it.
My husband and I had a morning wedding and reception. Everyone was gone by two so a bunch of us hopped on in the cars and went to a Tiger game.
A lot safer than a trip to Tulip Island.

  12. Our honeymoon trip was delayed for 3 1/2 months due to work schedule and probably wasn't what we would have liked since we only had a week. We went to Colorado and covered a lot of territory in that short span of time. Not a good way to see Colorado. dbahn@iw.net

  13. Our honeymoon was a nightmare. Lol. We got a room in Gatlinburg. The car broke down on the way there, and when we finally got there the room was a dump. We didn't even stay the whole weekend that we had booked.

  17. Our "honeymoon"consisted of a huge party my parents had for us(we got married and lived in another state). There were so many people in their 2 story house that the weight on the 2nd floor made the huge lamp above the pool table downstairs, drop from the ceiling and fall on top of it! 21. My wife and I have been married for almost 17 years. We never had a "formal" honeymoon, but our lives together have been better than a simple honeymoon.

  22. Our honeymoon was a nice cabin in the woods in the Poconos. We've been married almost 42 years . I'm so glad there were no computers and cell phones back then. It was a lovely time of hikes, horseback riding and each other.

  23. Our honeymoon was delayed which was probably a good thing. We went to a pristine beach on S Padre Island, but it wasn't so pristine. Storms has driven in tar balls from oil spills, jellyfish that stung us, our hotel pool was infested with fire ants that bit us. We were relieved to return home safely.

  24. Our honeymoon came in two parts due to our work schedules not matching. Part one was Christmas in Disney World as a pre-wedding honeymoon. We were treated well by the hotel and Mickey himself. Part two, post-wedding honeymoon, started in a lovely suite on the Delta King waking up on the river as husband and wife, then heading off to a B&B in Half Moon Bay. Both parts were wonderful, just the way we wanted to spend our time!

  25. We felt patriotic and did a two-week tour of the United States, hitting cities we'd always wanted to go to. But I sure would love to go to tulip Island! Loved the book! Just when I think I have a favorite, Tonya Kappes writes a new one, and I fall in love all over again with her books.

  33. No, my honeymoon was nothing like I imagined it would be. We had a small wedding on a Friday in late January and spent the weekend at a Holiday Inn near Lake Michigan. We got the beach part right, just not the time of the year. There's a lot of snow in January on the shores of Lake Michigan.

  38. I think I had the honeymoon I dreamed of. I never thought a lot about my honeymoon, other than being with my new husband, and that happened. We spent a couple of nights at a motel in a small town on our way from where our wedding was to our new home. Just the two of us. And that was what I dreamed of.
