Counting on food!

by J.J. Tanner from the Dinner Club Mysteries by Linda Wiken

Some might call me a party animal. According to my calendar, I am. If you stole a peak at it, you’d see I have lots of opportunities to slip into my go-to little black dress throughout the year. And I’m grateful for that because, it’s my job. As an event planner, I find there are a lot of parties involved, whether it’s a twenty-first birthday party for an “Italian princess”, or the banquet at a weekend conference for teachers. They all take a lot of planning and care, which is why I stayed employed. And, I get to go to them.

But as much as I love my job – and I do – I’ve decided to try to make a slight shift in focus in my life this coming year, a little more into the personal realm.

At present, that means putting a bit more time and effort into the meals I prepare as part of the Culinary Capers Dinner Club. And hopefully, in the future, it might involve spending a lot more time with a certain private investigator who really makes my toes curl.

Those are my objectives – my goals to reach them are the meals. Food is the best way to share friendships, and as they say, food is the way to a man’s heart. I’m so there!

Did you make any New Year’s resolutions this year? Do they, by any chance, involve food?

The first book in the Dinner Club Mystery series is now available at the bookstore of your choice, and on-line; also as an e-book.

  1. I don't make resolutions. I probably should. Happy new year!

  2. I literally just found what my 2017 resolution will be about 5 minutes ago - Plan To Be A Blessing Today. A good friend sent me a story - with an important answer for me. Y'all take care and may God Bless each of you.

  3. I never make resolutions of promises I can't keep. I prefer to just let the chips fall where they may. Love the covers on the two new books and would love being the happy winner.
