Yes, yes, I know . . . you’re busy this week.
Here on South Bass Island, we are, too.
South Bass, you see, is in Lake Erie, about three miles from the Ohio shoreline and five miles from the US/Canadian border. That means not only do we celebrate the Fourth of July here in Put-in-Bay, the island’s village, but we celebrate Canada Day, too.
Along with Luella, Kate, and Chandra, the other members of the book discussion group we call the League of Literary Ladies, I’ll be part of a couple cookouts, enjoy a bonfire on the beach, and watch some spectacular fireworks. With any luck, there won’t be any murders interrupting our celebrations, but with the Ladies of the League, you never know.
