Hey there, sugar. Caro Lamont here. I wanted to tell you all about this great event I'm involved with. Barking with the Stars is a fundraiser to raise money to provide therapy dogs for veterans. Truly a worthwhile cause. These dogs, who are from shelters, are trained to provide companionship for veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress. A good thing for both the dog and the veteran. I guess you could say they sort of rescue each other.
My friend, Diana, is the one who got me involved with the star-studded event and as a pet therapist my role is to keep everyone calm. Easier said than done sometimes, right?
I've enjoyed working with the celebrities and their pets as we've prepared for the big day, but we've had some problems. First off, my ex-husband, Geoffrey, has managed to snuggle up to some of the biggest stars and has been spreading all sorts of rumors about me. And there's also been some difficulty with one of the stars, Purple, the headliner for the event, who is a bit high-strung.
I have to tell you, I'm getting worried that this very worthy event is falling apart. We can't let that happen. Diana and I will put our heads together and try to figure out what needs to be done to keep things on track. But we'd sure appreciate it if you'd keep your fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong.
These kinds of things can be high stress. I keep thinking about the time when my cousin, Mel was involved with a dachshund event where things went from bad to worse. You can read about it in The Girl with the Dachshund Tattoo, which is on sale right now for $1.99, in all ebook formats.
You can find out more about Barking with the Stars this November when the latest book is released.
