Cycle Path Giveaway!

Evie Bloomfield here on lovely Mackinac Island and from the Cycle Path Mysteries. We all know not all weddings are created equal but to have the bride shoot the wedding planner may be a new one.

Okay, maybe he had it coming. Maybe he did forget to order the tables and chairs for the reception and went with picnic baskets and blankets for a sit on the lawn affair. Maybe he did forget to order the cake but he did scrounge up those cupcakes from Doud’s Market that weren’t too bad. And what about the good things? He ordered the best Champagne ever and lots of it.
Why did he remember the Champagne when he forgot everything else? Does it have to do with the dead guy on the docks who had a bottle of Champagne clutched in his hands? Does it have anything to do with the smuggling booze operation into Canada?
Not that the bride cares diddly about any of that all she wanted was a wedding to remember and a dead wedding planner with a musket ball in his chest is sure to make that happen.

But the upside of today is Killer Characters is launching Cozy Up To Summer Giveaway!!! It runs from now till August 15!! So don’t miss a day.

And today to kick off the event I’m giving away any book from my backlist and an adorable pair of Cat Socks. Everyone needs Cat Socks.

Just leave a comment on What is the best thing about cozy mysteries!! The characters? Locations? Communities? That they are a series? I’ll announce the winner tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for playing along!!

  1. A mystery with a wedding as the central focus. I think along with mysteries that feature a class reunion, wedding murder mysteries are my favorite. dbahn(at)iw(dot)net

  6. Love the characters and the different locations. In a series, you see the characters evolve and you feel a part of the story after a while. patwalkerp(at)gmail(dot)com

  7. The characters are what attract me and then the communities because of the characters within the communities. They add the dimension to the cozy mystery that I need to read the next one, and the next one, and the next one.... jmvarner50@hotmail.com

  12. My favorite cozies are those with interests of mine. I enjoy stories of New England where I live, of places where I've traveled, stories about food or beverages 😊 and cooking and baking, art, stories about places that I love to go, like the beach, but can't do that anymore, stories about clothing/ consignment shops, casinos/gambling, locations that I hope to visit, about books, and mentioning older folks or an older character like I am. In other words, I like a connection of some sort in my reading material.

The cat socks are adorable. Just like you Duffy.😍

Thank you for the chance. If I we're ever lucky enough to win a book and the socks I believe other authors have my email if you don't have it. I can be found on FB as Cynthia Bayer Blain.

    Take care.

    Cynthia

  13. Thanks for your generosity Duffy. Cozies are my favorite genre--they take me away for an escape to places I would never go (for the most part--there are places I've been and love).

  15. Coay mysteries are just wonderful reads and a few of the stray cats love to hang out but they are wild but the best thing is one of them had babies and we didn't know where she had them we thought one of my husbands sheds well last night we went outside and a little kitty ran under my car and the mama was on my husbands truck tire all hiding from our 2 pups. We love them and they know that 2 times a day there is homemade cat food out there for them they are the best.ptclayton2@aol.com

  16. The best thing about cozy mysteries is solving the mystery. These books are done in a way where its not a "scary" mystery. The characters are fun! The pets or cooking or craft of the series is make it more comforting. Thanks for the chance to win! nerdsrgood@msn.com

  18. Love the light escapism without the extraneous gore and nudity but still challenging the brain to discover the who and why. And I adore wearing cat socks!

  19. The best thing about cozy mysteries is that they are clean reads, with a sense of community, family, and friendship. I love the adorable Cat Socks! Thank you for this chance!

  21. I love 2 things best-first the community. I feel in many series that I can't wait to read a new book because I want to see the people again. But also what is left out. I don't need graphic descriptions of murder or sex and am pleased when this can be left to me to imagine as I can.

  22. The characters, particularly the secondary characters, make a cozy series for me. I've read several cozies with good plots and good writing, but the characters just didn't appeal to me, or, worse, I didn't like. Didn't read any more of that series. Thanks for the chance. Love the socks.

  24. You are oh, so right - everyone does need cat socks! A dear friend of mine used to give us socks for every occasion. Fun. The best thing about cozies is the totally believable :-) outrageous behavior and the skills and talents I would love to have. And fun endings!

  25. The best thing about cozies for me is probably the characters, and that there is more than one book in the set. I generally like the settings, and I enjoy all the different occupations/ skills / talents that the main character has. I expect a good plot / story line, but the characters must hold my attention. And the clean read is important also.

  26. Fun settings, and quirky characters and unexpected and sometimes so obvious that you count it out, turns.

  27. I think it's mostly that cozies have such great characters. Also often times the setting is another fun character.

  42. Hi, Marlene Ezell here. One mystery that needs solving is why my phone only lets me comment as anonymous. I guess one of the things that I like about cozy mysteries is that there is no explicit sex. I really don't especially care for it in books. Of course, I feel that there is not anything to dislike about cozies. They are my go to read in between books that are intense. A goid light read is always in order.

There are animals (cats, dogs, and even a pig) that work with the main character to solve the mystery. Also you may find a new recipe to add to your file.
