Old Books and a Lot of Bother

Diesel the Maine Coon from the bestselling "Cat in the Stacks" series by Miranda James

Charlie loves these things called books almost as much as he loves me, I think. He sure spends an awful lot of time with them. Most of the time I don't really mind, because he likes to stare at one a lot when he's lying on my bed. When he does that I can stretch out on my bed beside him and nap, and that is one of my favorite things to do.

A lady brought Charlie some old, funny-smelling books, and he seems pretty excited about them. I don't know what makes them special or different, but he seems to get excited a lot about books when we go to the office place where I have my second-favorite bed up in the window behind his desk. He's not the only one who thinks these books are special, because there are two different ladies who really want to play with them, too.

One of these ladies I really don't like. She just smells like a mean person. The other one isn't so bad, I suppose, but Charlie seems annoyed with both of them. I think he just wants them to go away so he can play with these books all by himself. But I get the feeling there may be trouble yet over these old books...

There will be trouble over these old books, and you can find out what happens in Arsenic and Old Books. As an added bonus in the book, you can also find out what happened "When Charlie Met Diesel."

  1. Meow! Charlie's lucky to have a guardian like you. Like us. Keep watching...

  2. Diesel, your purr-ceptions are so accurate! Here's hoping you get lots of snuggle time, with Charlie, once this latest mystery is solved!

    Congratulations, Miranda/Dean!
