We are doing a Christmas Eve eve lunch today with my Dad and step-mom. Tomorrow we do Christmas Eve breakfast with my mom, followed by Christmas morning at our house, visit to my mother in law in the nursing home, and a big family party at my aunts house with all of my cousins. It's always a fun and crazy few days. Then, I got tickets for my son to find in his stocking to go see the new Star Wars movie at 7 Christmas day. Now that he is getting older I am trying a new tradition of gifting the family movie tickets each Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWe celebrate with the kids and grandkids on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, we'll enjoy each other. I've just discovered Molly and actually bought one of her books at our local yarn shop to put in my stocking :) Would love to read all of them.

ReplyDeleteMy husband an I have sort of been adopted by two families who do not have grandparents here in Arizona. We do not have any grand kids - and so we now have 7 rent a grands. We will spend Christmas eve with one family and the other will come here for Christmas Breakfast. Lots of giggles and hugs - sitting on my lap and maybe some knitting. Until then I am still knitting slippers for all of them!
ReplyDeleteI like "rent a grands"!
DeleteWe will celebrate my birthday a little on the 24th, go to the Christmas Eve service, come home and have snacks to eat, open gifts, get up the next morning and go to church and have a quiet day, enjoying our time together. Our kids are scattered all over the US and we see them in the summer when it is safer to travel. Merry Christmas!

It all occurred as a real "happy"-stance. Most family lives on the other coast, except my niece. So she and I met Christmas Day at the nearby Starbuck's to exchange gifts and gossip over coffee and McTreats. We had such a wonderful time, we've made it a tradition. Now, she and her dad, my husband and I get together to have a merry morning. This year with Christmas part of the weekend were adding post-Christmas pedicures to continue enjoying the holidays. kat8762@aol.com
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I do a fondue dinner, play dominos and watch Lampoon's Christmas. I always get some reading time in. No family to spend Christmas with. I would love knot the usual suspects, thank you for the giveaway. Georgia

The entire family gathers for gift opening, brunch, card games and dinner and perhaps a drive to see holiday light displays in the neighborhood. Merry Christmas!

I'm hosting on Christmas Day. I'll have a breakfast casserole in the morning with one of my children and his family. They will come back later along with my other child and my parents. I will be having prime rib and a tradition that we celebrate every year is pulling Christmas crackers and having plum pudding. If permitted, we'll have the fire in our fireplace and open gifts.
ReplyDeletebluedawn95864 at gmail dot com
This year will be very quiet for me. Probably classic carols in the background, Netflix movies, a few good books. If I am ambitious I may bake cookies.

ReplyDeleteThe holidays mean time with my mother and brother. Turkey dinner, presents, and then game night!
ReplyDeletePlaqued by Quilt! I have no family so I spend it reading and I go to a early service.
ReplyDeleteI'm at Gulf Shores. I have watched Christmas movies all night, came to the pier to watch the sun comes up, and tonight my parents will be here to celebrate! Tomorrow we'll be having etouffe, scallops, shrimp and a cheesecake/goat cheese/roasted pineapple thingy!! I wish y'all a very Merry Christmas from the beach!
ReplyDeleteSince my husband had cataract surgery yesterday, Christmas this year will be spent quietly at home with our little Corgi mix, Bella. Our youngest son will be over to eat and the oldest daughter will probably stop for a bit with her family. Our other son and his family have invited us for supper on Sunday and we celebrated Christmas with our younger daughter and her family at Thanksgiving since they live several hundred miles away. Kind of miss having everyone together, but then again, it's nice to spend time with each quietly and enjoy the moment.
