New Year, Big Change

Charlie Harris, from the best-selling Cat in the Stacks series by Miranda James

The holidays were wonderful chez Harris, with friends and family. The college shut down for the holidays, and that mean I had a couple of weeks off from the archives and rare books. By the time the new semester started, though, I was ready to get back to work.

There was a bit of startling news, though, right at the first of the year. Apparently my boss, Peter Vanderkeller, resigned, and rather abruptly. Left a note saying he was leaving for California -- or so I heard -- and he was sorry about the mess. Not sure what mess he's talking about, but rumor has it that the library will have an interim director from outside the library until the search for a new director is complete.

I'm puzzled as to why the president is appointing someone from outside the library to be interim. Usually in these situations, a high-ranking librarian gets the job. Well, we'll just have to see how things go and trust in the president's reasoning and in his choice.

On February 22, 2016, readers can find out along with Charlie what happens when the Athena College Library has an interim director...

  1. I can't wait to find out what happens.

  2. Not to be cliche, but Curiouser and Curiouser. Looks like a most intriguing read.

  3. Waiting does not become me, but I'll do my best to be patient!

  4. Miranda James' books with Charlie and Diesel are one of my favorite series. Thanks for the interview.
I will be waiting for release day.

  5. Patience and waiting are not my strengths. I will wait.
