All of my life I, Maggie Parks, couldn’t wait to get my very own familiar.
After all, my mama has an ornery cat named Riule, Gilbert the macaw is my
sister’s, Lilith, and Ms. Kitty the owl is my Auntie Meme’s.
I guess I should explain that I’m a witch and a familiar is
usually an animal or supernatural spirit that will aid a witch in performing
magic. Simple, right? Wrong!
Vinnie. My familiar’s name is Vinnie. Now, I don’t know about you, but that name sounds to me like Vinnie
is somewhat outspoken, do what I want kinda name. Not only is my familiar’s
name is Vinnie, but to make matter worse, Vinnie is a 1965 classic red AC
Cobra. Can you get a car that screams muscle car?
You got it. Vinnie is my snarky familiar. Just how is Vinnie
going to help me get out of my predicament where I’ve been thrown into helping
Agent Mick Jasper, undercover agent for SKUL, a little-known division of Interpol
– the Secret Keepers of the Universal Laws, figure out how to fix his
investigation when I’m the one who messed it up by botching up a silly little
spell after I lost a bet with Lilith playing Truth or Spell.

If I were to be a familiar, I am quite sure I would pick to be a cat. I have three cats and let's face it - they have a sweet life. I think river otters are just about some of the coolest animals, but I'm not sure how practical that would be! grin.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! kristin409(at)comacast(dot)net

DeleteI'd have a cat for a familiar and that cat would probably be Siamese or a black cat. Anyone who has had a cat would probably tell you, there is some thing about a cat which makes them seem spiritual, magical and all knowing. dbahn@iw.net

DeleteIf I was a familiar I would be a cat. I have a black cat and loves cats in general. Seriously they are independent but when they want love they will let you know. Just like me LOL. maryellen_fink@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteIf I could have a familiar I'd want it to be a crow, I'm fascinated with them they seem so wise. I'd also like the crow to transform to a human because I want them to be around in normal situations as well.
ReplyDeleteI'd have a cat as my familiar. I always had a cat growing up, but in adult life cannot have one due to my children's allergies. Cats are quiet and mysterious, but have such boisterous personalities when they feel the need to let it out. I feel like I'm thexpected same way. I could be a sneaky orange tabby.
ReplyDeleteI think if I had a familiar it would be a 64 Mustang cause I love that car and I am allergic to animals. Loved the book and would love the coloring book. Thanks Tonya
