By the coolest of cool cats, Jerry Garcia, from Kylie Logan’s League of Literary Ladies Mysteries
Deck the halls?
Hey baby, if you haven’t caught on, it’s a cruel trick. Shiny garland? Twinkling lights? Sparkling packages? And a tree in the house?
It’s like someone invented Christmas traditions just to drive us cool cats crazy.
But have no fear, when you’re a groovy guy like me, you know how to get around the holiday machinations of humans.
Trees are made for climbing. Wrapping paper is designed to be shredded. And those cute twinkly lights? One quick bite through the cord take care of those.
In fact, the only holiday tradition around here worth keeping is SEASON’S READINGS.
That’s right, I’m joining the other Killer Characters and offering you a chance to win a copy of Kylie Logan’s “And Then There Were Nuns.” Yeah, yeah, it’s a mystery, and a pretty good one from what I’ve heard, but let’s face it, the only real reason to read it is for the cat.
So get your act together, leave a comment, and I’ll have that Kylie chick pick a winner by end of day, December 7.
Good luck!

Jerry thinks he's very cool!

ReplyDeleteLove the cat picture above and yes, I confess, if a book cover has a cat on it, I'm more inclined to pick that book to read. dbahn(at)iw(dot)net
ReplyDeleteInteresting . . . as authors we often discuss how much a cover affects book sales.
DeleteJerry Garcia - you can come and live with me!
ReplyDeletekpbarnett1941[at]aol.com
You'd be sorry, Karen B! He's one bad kitty!
DeleteI do read it for the cat. LOL
ReplyDeletedebby236 at gmail dot com
Have one of your books in my TBR. Sorry I haven't had a chance to start it.
ReplyDeletekckendler at gmail dot com
Hope you enjoy. And in case the name confuses you . . . Kylie Logan is also Casey Daniels!
DeleteThe cat appeals to me very much. Thanks. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteHe's a bad cat. A very bad cat. And the bane of his neighbor's life!
DeleteI like mysteries that have cats in them. Thanks for the giveaway. norbert8bubba(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned in a comment above, it's always interesting for authors to hear what appeals to readers. Glad to hear you like cats. I'll remember that!
DeleteThis cat cozy looks special and attracts me. Many thanks. elliotbencan(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
DeleteHolidays with pets can be interesting.

So far so good around here, neither of the dogs is bothering any decorations. Had a cat last year (he's since moved out with my son) and he left the tree alone.
DeleteFeisty cat. I'm sure all of those decorations
ReplyDeleteare tempting and they don't have to replace anything
that gets broken or moved.
thanks for the chance to win a book I've not read.

There's a funny cartoon online...two cats in a bar and one of them moaning, "they bring in a tree and sparkling lights and twinkly garland, and I'm not allowed to touch it. And they wonder why I drink."
DeleteOnly a cat has such wisdom regarding the holidays.
ReplyDeletelaughlincat(at)gmail(dot)com
Wisdom...and nerve!
DeleteI have lived with a cat who thought everything Christmas was for her entertainment. She was a wonderful girl, and she brought a lot of laughs.
ReplyDeleteThe laughs are what's important, aren't they? They are what get us all through and why pets are so precious!
DeleteSince my Pug is a wee bit jealous, I have to confine my interaction with cats to cozies. Don't tell him I said cats are great at solving mysteries. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! We have one Airedale and one . . . well, no one's figured out yet what the other one is. Big (very big), all white, fuzzy. Looks like a gigantic stuffed animal. When we had a cat living here, he and the Airedale got along fine. I don't think that would happen with the White Moose!

ReplyDeleteBless you!
DeleteSounds like a deal to me.
ReplyDeleteBut watch out biting those light cords! You could get your mouth fried!
libbydodd at comcast dot net
My daughter's Scottie ate through a light cord and lived to tell the tale. Not sure how, except that Scotties are tough little guys.
DeleteSorry, Jerry, the proliferation of felines in cozies boggles the mind, it's like some unspoken law ;-p Now, if you opined pithy & biting comments throughout the novels such as above.. or brought a sabre-toothed tiger into the mix, then I could see the attraction. So though this shant make me popular, League of Literary Ladies is my fave cozy series and I'm dying to read the Nuns..nun..nun-nun-nun..nun-nuh-nuh-naaa (it's the Hardy Boys theme), I'm gonna have to risk any catcalls and leave this comment :D
ReplyDeleteOh yes, right there with you...cats everywhere! But see above, many readers love to see cats on covers and in books. You know that's why publishers do it!
DeleteJerry--My kitties totally did those things when they were younger, but now that they are senior citizens they are finally letting me have a tree again this year. Enjoy your youth while you have it. Thanks for the contest.

DeleteOf course the cat is the reason to read the story. Thanks for the chance. turtle6422(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteTruth to tell, he's really not in the books that much. Except to drive our heroine crazy, of course!
DeleteCan't wait to read the latest installment in the series! Hope I win a copy

Book #5 in the series, "Gone With the Twins," will be published in March. So another one coming up very soon!

DeleteI love to Celebrate Christmas and what it means but having it more than once a year would be exhausting.
ReplyDeleteAny of the 3 books you send, if I win, would be great.
Thanks for entering me in your giveaway.

I'm very curious how the Christmas tree will fair this year as I have 2 kittens, the younger I believe will be a climber. We'll see I get the tree this week!
ReplyDeletecozyupwithkathy @ gmail dot com
Good luck with that!
DeleteI love mysteries with cats. Just finished one (Fat Cat Takes the Cake).
ReplyDeletecatbooks72(at)gmail(dot)com
Another cat lover! So good to know what readers like.
DeleteI love mysteries with cats. In fact I have a 7 month old kitten that somewhat resembles the cat picture in this post. Thanks so much for the giveaway. choirlady27(at)hotmail(dot)com

Another cat lover!
DeleteHubs isn't a cat lover so we are without our own Jerry Garcia. So, I get my grins and giggles through all cozy mysteries with cats featured. Thank you Kylie/Casey for a chance to win in your give-a-way!
ReplyDeletesxygrndma48{at}yahoo{dot}com
My husband is highly allergic. Yet we had a cat living here (long story!) for about two years. I doubt we'll get another, but I enjoyed Marvin's company.
DeleteI am a big cat lover. I love this blog too! Please pick me for one of your neat giveaways!! lindaherold999@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove it that you love the blog! Good luck on Season's Readings!
DeleteTraditions are important!!
ReplyDeletemarypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Even for cats!
DeleteYou'd fit right in with our cats - maybe even teach them a thing or two. cheers@marjimmanor.com
ReplyDeleteYikes! Jerry teaching other cats is a scary thought!
DeleteWe are owned by two cats in our home. Both are pretty calm and very seldom do we have any problems with them causing havoc this time of year. I love Kylie Logan's, aka Casey Daniels, series since they are set on the islands in Lake Erie along the northeast corner of Ohio. My fingers are crossed that I'm the lucky one to be pulled for this giveaway. robeader53(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'll be picking the winner in a couple minutes.
DeleteI love Jerry Garcia's snarky catitude! Would love to win a copy!!! Merry
ReplyDeleteNorthstarvance @ Gmail (dot) com
Catitude! Love it!
DeleteFirst year with a tree. Never trusted my cats before. So far so good...
ReplyDeletejeosmond@gmail.com
Fingers crossed. We have a new puppy this year so we're going to see what happens to the tree.
DeleteGosh I love this series. And I adore Jerry Garcia! bobwiesmann(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteJerry lives to be adored!
DeleteI can only read about cats now, since we travel way too much to have a pet. So the tree doesn't get climbed...
ReplyDeleteElaineE246 at msn dot com
How wonderful that you have the opportunity to travel!
DeleteI have my winner . . . Crochetma! I'll be emailing you in a bit for your mailing info. Congrats, and thanks to everyone who checked in. Watch for the next book in the League series, "Gone with the Twins." It will be out on March 4 and the newest Pepper Martin mystery, "Graveyard Shift," hits shelves on January 1.
