Deck the halls?
Hey baby, if you haven’t caught on, it’s a cruel trick. Shiny garland? Twinkling lights? Sparkling packages? And a tree in the house?
It’s like someone invented Christmas traditions just to drive us cool cats crazy.
But have no fear, when you’re a groovy guy like me, you know how to get around the holiday machinations of humans.
Trees are made for climbing. Wrapping paper is designed to be shredded. And those cute twinkly lights? One quick bite through the cord take care of those.
In fact, the only holiday tradition around here worth keeping is SEASON’S READINGS.
That’s right, I’m joining the other Killer Characters and offering you a chance to win a copy of Kylie Logan’s “And Then There Were Nuns.” Yeah, yeah, it’s a mystery, and a pretty good one from what I’ve heard, but let’s face it, the only real reason to read it is for the cat.

So far so good around here, neither of the dogs is bothering any decorations. Had a cat last year (he's since moved out with my son) and he left the tree alone.

ReplyDeleteI know the feeling! We have one Airedale and one . . . well, no one's figured out yet what the other one is. Big (very big), all white, fuzzy. Looks like a gigantic stuffed animal. When we had a cat living here, he and the Airedale got along fine. I don't think that would happen with the White Moose!

My daughter's Scottie ate through a light cord and lived to tell the tale. Not sure how, except that Scotties are tough little guys.
DeleteSorry, Jerry, the proliferation of felines in cozies boggles the mind, it's like some unspoken law ;-p Now, if you opined pithy & biting comments throughout the novels such as above.. or brought a sabre-toothed tiger into the mix, then I could see the attraction. So though this shant make me popular, League of Literary Ladies is my fave cozy series and I'm dying to read the Nuns..nun..nun-nun-nun..nun-nuh-nuh-naaa (it's the Hardy Boys theme), I'm gonna have to risk any catcalls and leave this comment :D

My husband is highly allergic. Yet we had a cat living here (long story!) for about two years. I doubt we'll get another, but I enjoyed Marvin's company.
