A Fish Out of Water

Hi, Carrie Ann Cole here. I'm an American Chef working for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Yes, a little bit of a fish out of water. I was studying a tourist guide to London and British slang on the plane on my way to this awesome job.
Here I was getting to do my dream job. I was telling everyone how I learned to put cream in the cup before the tea as the proper British do. I was so proud to serve it over and over and then...someone pointed out to me that it's milk in tea not cream and if I were really into British things I would know that. Sigh. I have so much to learn.
I figure I've got a lot of learning to do. I'm thankful the friends I'm making and for the Duchess giving me a chance. I'm her first family chef and I hope to be with her a long time.
My life is pretty good except for one dead assistant, one grumbly, competitive head chef, and the fact that my boyfriend thinks I should drop my dreams to follow him to California.
Not to mention butting heads with a handsome gardener who has the power to kick me out of my own greenhouse.
But I'm not crying over a little spilled milk. I've got a Duchess to impress and a murder to solve. I might be a little fish now, but I'm learning fast. Have you ever felt like a fish out of water?
You can read all about me when my debut novel releases April 11, 2017. Cheers~ Carrie Ann

  1. I was fortunate to read an ARC from Netgalley. I loved it!!

  2. I've been a fish out of water my whole life. The first twenty years were a horror story.

But, all that aside I'm looking forward to enjoying your book where I can let someone else have all the "tsuris".

  3. is ther an elevator in this book?

  4. I love the sound of this book! I've been a fish out of water too many times to count in my life...starting new jobs, and for crying out loud, even when I started to be the primary cook at home and my husband would hover I would have an anxiety attack. haha! I'm sure there are more events to come as well.

  5. Can't wait to read, sounds amazing.

  6. Oh yes, I have almost always been a fish out of water...marching (or swimming) to the beat of a different drummer. Congrats on your new series and looking forward to reading it!
