By Jill Gardner, from ROCKETS' DEAD GLARE written by Lynn Cahoon
Did you ever wonder what we did in South Cove between the books? Yeah, I know my author writes stories about what she calls the South Cove gang. But we're not just sitting around, waiting for her to write about us.
No, we have jobs, and lives, and loves. So when she started to think about the stories she hadn't told yet, I just happened to remember one crazy 4th of July. It was a beautiful summer, of course most of them are here in central coastal California. That's why everyone wants to live here. Well, it's great except for the wild fires or earthquakes and don't get me started on taxes. But tourists don't want to think about reality, they like the fantasy of what living in this small tourist town would be like.
And don't get me wrong, it is wonderful. Sometimes, there are just a few weird things that happen. Like that summer. I'll let Lynn tell you more about the whole thing. Even now, it creeps me out to talk about it.
I've got to get going. Greg's taking me on a long weekend to Napa wine country. Toby has promised to babysit Emma. And I need the get away from the shop and my aunt.
See you soon.
