My baby brother got married on Saturday! Well, not so much baby anymore but since he's the youngest in the family, that's how I think of him. I was delighted, we all were, that he decided to settle down. As a teen, he kept my parents hopping. And then when he chose to become a firefighter, the anxiety over his daredevil tendencies diminished as they were being refocused and controlled. And now he has a wife who is also a firefighter and understands him.
The problem is me. I was foolish enough to invited my, whatever he is, Ty Devine (the P.I. who reluctantly assists in my sleuthing) to the wedding weekend in Montpelier, VT. There's no way I would have normally asked him, after my mom caught us in a passionate embrace on my sofa when she stayed over one time. But, he did ask who I was taking as my 'Plus One'...so I asked him. You can just imagine what that led to. Sly and not-so-subtle comments about our tying the knot. My usually laid back dad asking, in an indirect manner I admit, about his intentions.
Well, it's Ty's own fault! He brought it on himself.
But it has got me thinking.....
And it was a beautiful wedding.
Don't you just hate being put on the spot like that? Has it ever happened to you?
