Ever since she opened the shop next to mine, I can’t stop thinking about her. One day I caught myself doodling her name, Yolanda Bella, over and over on a notepad, like a love-struck high school kid. What’s wrong with me?
Okay, she’s gorgeous. All the dark, wild hair. Those bright, flashing eyes. And you can’t miss her in a roomful of people, the way she dresses. That woman has style. You should see the sample baskets in her window. She sells gift baskets and has such an artistic flair.
I’m so pumped that she wants to collaborate, to put bottles of my wine into her baskets. Well, I’m the one who suggested it, but she’s enthusiastic about the idea.
She’s also very kind to woman running the brand new sweet shop on the other side of me. Yolanda puts her treats into the baskets, too. I’ve talked with the friend, Tally Holt, a couple of times and I’m getting the idea that they’re good friends.
Why don’t I just ask Yolanda out? I’m going to do it. I swear I will.
But something’s wrong. There are a bunch of police and other official vehicles pulling up to Tally’s shop. I’d better see what’s going on.
