Giveaway! WELL READ, THEN DEAD ARC

By Sassy Cabot from the Read ’Em and Eat Mysteries by Terrie Farley Moran

The only thing better than winter in Fort Myers Beach is summer in Fort Myers Beach. Well, except for Aunt Ophie prancing around singing “Summertime, and the living is easy…” Honestly sometime I think she believes she is Ella Fitzgerald.

Anyway, I am happy we have another bustling summer at the Read ’Em and Eat Café and Bookstore. And with each passing season the construction on Estero Boulevard moves close to Lover’s Key and has less impact on getting around town day to day. I can’t even imagine the celebration we’ll have when the construction crews finally leave. Although from the viewpoint of café owners, Bridgy and I get a lot of breakfast and lunch orders from the workers.

Listen to me, going on and on as if you know all about us. Well, if you don’t here is a great way to meet us. Our author is giving away an Advanced Reader Copy (uncorrected proof) of WELL READ, THEN DEAD, the very first book in the Read ’Em and Eat series. No fancy cover, but lots of great characters inside, including me, my business partner Bridgy, our fabulous chef Miguel, Bridgy’s Aunt Ophie, and lots of fun members of our various book clubs. Oh, and someone gets murdered!

For a chance to win, please comment below and tell us how you feel about summer. Don’t forget to include your email addy in this format: name(AT)server(DOT) com to avoid the spam bots. Giveaway closes at midnight, your time, Sunday, July 21st .

  5. I am not a fan of summer. I enjoy seeing the plants grow, and do a little bit of gardening. But I would rather stay inside where it is cool. Give me an Autumn day though, and I am happy!

  16. Grew up in South East Texas. I don't care how much they complain about the heat. I liked my two weeks of winter! Way better than shoveling all this snow every year up here in PA. Thanks for the chance.

  19. I usually love summer but not the past few years. With temps that range from high 80s to 101 degrees, mosquitoes big enough to be the state bird and either too much rain or not enough I ‘m almost confined to the house. vernamgass@gmail.com

  23. Aunt Ophie prancing around singing “Summertime, and the living is easy…” says it for me. Used to live where it was HOT & Humid. So moved where it is much more temperate. We are usually mid 70's & I love the strawberry festival & the peaches. Of course, the problem with strawberry & peaches are eaten so fast I don't get to make things with them. Have yet to read this author. So I am hoping this will change that, it does look like a great read. deepotter at centurylink dot net

    1. I am so curious about the "methodist plant." I wonder if it came to America from John Wesley. He traveled around preaching, and maybe the plant spread around like he did. Like I said, I'm curious.

  61. It sounds like most of us here loves the summer. There is something healing about a slower pace and the smells and sounds of summertime. Summer is a busier season for me, when teenagers are out of school. However, I love the weather, the burst of new life (California grown food, nature blooming, and baby animals being born), and I especially love the opportunity to travel and spend a much needed visit with family and friends. aime.ryals(at)hotmail(dot)com
