Summer! Let's make sour cream ice cream

There is nothing more delightful than Mackinac Island in the summer time. The streets are filled with vacationers (Fudgies), the sounds of horses and carriages, and the smells of fudge and ice cream!

I'm Allie McMurphy of the Candy-Coated mystery series and I'm expanding out from fudge to bring you an easy, super tasty sour cream ice cream recipe. Don't worry, you don't have to churn it. Just whisk and freeze.
The best part about sour cream ice cream is that you can mix in anything to make it your own- from berries to chocolate chips to pieces of fudge.

For a perfect summer desert, I make this and add Michigan blueberries and raspberries to give a pretty red white and blue flavor. You can also try a jam of your choice as a topping.

Want to know how to do it?

You'll need:
1 1/2 cups of sour cream
1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp of vanilla
Add-on of your choosing: berries, nuts, chopped peaches, mini chocolate chips, or, of course, fudge! I recommend a half a cup.

Pour the first 3 ingredients together in a freezer safe bowl. Whisk until very smooth (no lumps of sour cream.) Fold in add-ons of your choice now - or you can add as topping later. Cover and freeze overnight (at least six hours)

Makes 4 servings (roughly 1/2 cup each)
