from Peg Cochran's Cranberry Cove Series
I love all the seasons on Sassamanash Farm and in Cranberry Cove. Each one holds its own delights.
Fall is the time for the cranberry harvest and when the bogs are flooded, the cranberries in shades of ruby red, pink and even white float to the top. The air is crisp and the fall leaves crunch under foot.
In winter we have a string of holidays plus the town Winter Walk where the shops are all decorated and lots of festivities bring tourists to Cranberry Cove in the dark months of January.
Spring is a special time with flowers appearing on the cranberry vines and the weather warms enough to tease of summer.
Right now it’s summer. Bees have been brought in to pollinate the flowers on the vines and summer nights are perfect for sitting outside listening to the cicadas hum.
