Baby Boot Camp! Who knew? Well Bridgy and I know for sure.
There is a Baby Boot Camp at the local mall on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings
for pregnant and post-natal moms. We are thrilled that some of the ladies in
the class have picked the Read ’Em and Eat Café and Bookstore as their post exercise
breakfast stop.
Talk about signs of life! We serve plenty of decaf coffee
and fresh fruit while we hear all about the latest visits to obstetricians and
pediatricians. I said to Bridgy the other day that if either of us decides to
have a baby someday, we will have an entire group of experts at our disposal!
Just today, Mary Alice Cole, came to breakfast for the first
time since giving birth to John Francis Cole in early July. He is cute as a
button and she is talking about rejoining the class next week, doctor permitting.
Miguel came out of the kitchen and surprised us all by presenting her with this
adorable beach tote to help her carry all that extra paraphernalia a newborn
requires.
Quite aware that he would be starting a trend, Miguel stashed
a few dozen of totes in the office so we won’t run out anytime soon. He also had
the idea of giving away a tote to one of our friends who visit us here at
Killer Characters.
For a chance to win, please comment below and tell us how
you feel about the beach. Don’t forget to include your email addy in this

I live in the northeast corner of Ohio along the shore of Lake Erie. I've never lived anywhere else so the beach, water and such are in my blood. The beach makes me feel grounded and I wouldn't live anywhere else. robeader53(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteHappy and at peace. I don't get there often but I have photos of the beach all over our home. (ourbutton(at)yahoo(dot)com

Hi ya i love the beach and books ty
ReplyDeleteTerrie, how do you always find the cutest totes? I love the beach, too, particularly in the early months of the year when the weather is sunny and crisp. I remember a beautiful St. Patrick's Day, looking out over the ocean while eating corned beef and drinking Irish coffee and various other green beverages! One of the best times ever!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy going to the beach, especially during the off season, so it's not so crowded.

ReplyDeleteLove the beach - it's the best place to relax and come back to yourself after a stressful time. Thanks for a chance to win! ljbonkoski@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteUsed to go to the beach a few times a year. But now very seldom, main reason is I can't handle being in the sun very much, have had some skin cancer spots and don't want more, I do use sunscreen but still. Main time I do go to the beach is on vacation.

Oh my gosh I miss the beach so much when I moved from Half moon Bay, Ca which was right on the beach to Dubuque, Ia I didn't kmow what i was going to do as I knew that my hubby worked in Ia but leaving the beach and the family were my top 2 priorites and i was leaving both, Well he said when I retire we will move out there and then you will be able to go to the beach and see your kids and grandkids. So not many years left and he is going to retire and then the big move back to the coast and family. I lived near the coast for 49 years and it is hard not hearing that crashing sound that the waves make and the splash that they send oh the air is so fresh there are so many reasons why i want to move back to Ca. Thank you Peggy Clayton ptclayton2 at aol.com
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't live near a beach, I love them!

Although I have follow you via Amazon, Terrie, you are still a new-to-me author and I would love to start reading your books. I used to love being at the beach but as I get older I find I would rather do the small town visiting (quaint shops, cafes, local bookstores, teashops.) However, I don't mind brief visits to the beach as long as there are other things to see (lighthouses, small grills, gift shops!) I love local businesses and think I could make good use of that tote at some of these! Thank you for the opportunity to win one!

Since we live inland, we LOVE getting to go to the beach. It means travel time - seeing new sights or traveling back to favorite places. We love to explore the shoreline to find little shells and items to add to our collection. Seeing lighthouses is an additional treat.

I am probably the only person here that does not like the beach. I am not a fan of sand or sun. Really do not like water unless it is a babbling stream or creek in the woods. I am a mountain, forest, snow person. Yep just a bit weird, lol. kayt18 (at) comcast (dot) net
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in a while but I love the beach! Thanks for the chance! JL_Minter(at)hotmail(dot)com

ReplyDeleteGrew up in Southern California...as a kid, my dad took us to the beach h whenever he was off work....my mom being from Ohio did not appreciate items much as I did. Dad stopped taking me on fishing trips when I entered conversations with a couple of young Marines from Camp Pendleton on the pier. Seriously, can I help it if I suddenly forgot how to bait my hook and reel min a catch? He told me I was musing the wrong kind of bait to reel in the wrong kind mom of fish! He also told those fellas I was mlm only 15 and they all skedaddled away! Sigh. Later we moved out by Palm Springs...after I was an adult, miss moved to San Diego. The beach h is where I go to renew and rest. I'm 72 now...and although I'm on the east coast, I still go to beaches whenever or wherever I can. My favorite spot right now is the gulf in Ft Merers. Fortunately, our oldest daughter, and granddaughter and their families live there....LaFonRC@aol.com
