Now, I hear what you're saying. "Ernie, don't you own Bits, Bolts & Bulbs? How can your garden center have too many mums this time of year?"
Well, let me explain. You can have too many mums when your new assistant assumed I meant dozen every time I said "order 1". Since the quantity was already a dozen, that means we have a lot of mums.
You can have too many mums when you've ordered four dozen mums all in purple hues for a wedding that got canceled. Probably for the best--I know the couple and it wasn't a good match. But still.
Needless to say, the Triple B is awash in mums. Fortunately for me, Lilly Jayne has offered to come down to the shop and help me with the display. She promises we'll get rid of them all one way or another. I've chosen to believe her.
For now, any time someone comes into the store looking for a plant, mums the word.
