Who loves food trucks? Plus a #Bookgiveaway!

Characters:     Savannah Webb
Title:              Down in Flames
Series:           Webb’s Glass Shop Mysteries
Author:          Cheryl Hollon
Website:         www.cherylhollon.com

Savannah here, checking in for what I hope is the actual start of Fall here in St. Petersburg, Florida. Even if the calendar says the day has already passed, I'm so excited that the evenings have begun to cool.

That means my dog Rooney and I can take our evening walks a little earlier without wilting in suffocating heat of temperatures that feel like 105!

The best thing is that the food trucks are here! The food trucks are here!

On selected Friday nights at the Albert Whitted Park on the edge of Tampa Bay in front of the Dali Museum, food trucks park along the street and stay there all evening. There's usually a theme, like Tacos, Flavors of Asia, and my favorite: Tater Tots!

There is usually a band to listen to and craft booths to browse. Of course, there's at least one sometimes two craft beer trucks to add to the flavor of the evening.

What a wonderful way to stroll around the waterfront. Do you have a favorite food that is best from a truck?

About Down in Flames:

A fatal hit-and-run in front of Savannah Webb's glass shop proves to be no accident. . .

A highlight of Savannah's new glass bead workshop is a technique called flame-working, which requires the careful wielding of acetylene torches. Understandably, safety is a top priority. But as Savannah is ensuring her students' safety inside, a hit-and-run driver strikes down a pedestrian outside her shop.

The victim is Nicole Borawski, the bartender/manager at the Queen's Head Pub, owned by Savannah's boyfriend Edward. It quickly becomes clear that this was no random act of vehicular manslaughter. Now the glass shop owner is all fired up to get a bead on the driver--before someone else meets a dead end . . .

  11. I do like food trucks, but we have so few here in the FL Panhandle. I loved the Korean tacos and Fried Green Tomato BLTs from one that existed here several years ago; the owner's military husband was transferred to Europe, so no more food truck ... teenlibn(at)hotmail(dot)com.

  12. Food trucks are great! When I worked at an office, the broccoli soup was best when it came from the truck called Jan's Kitchen. The lunch room at the office just didn't cut it, but the food truck did. Tari H, barbie17 (at) gmail (d0t) com Thanks for the entry!

  14. Empanadas. Funny coincidence, your blog post's timing. My school does a staff appreciation once a year and they bring in a couple of food trucks and it's this Friday. We get a choice of empanadas or sliders and donuts for dessert. I usually get 2 beef in Marbec and one spinach and cheese empanadas.

  19. Food trucks are an excellent way to try a wide variety of foods which I love. Unfortunately living in a small town in a rural setting doesn't give me as much of an opportunity to try it as often as I would like. Love trying food from the different nationalities when I do get the chance!

Always love reading about Savannah and can't wait for the opportunity to read "Down in Flames". For sure on my TBR list.

Thank you for the fabulous opportunity to win a copy.

  21. I love all foods put out by a food truck but the one that I always enjoy is ones who serve some form of meat. I have enjoyed delicious sausage with peppers on a hard roll, cheese steak with grilled onions and mushrooms, french fries with cheese sauce, and wonton wrapper stuffed with pulled pork. I really enjoy Cheryl Hollon's Savannah Webb character and this series. robeader53(at)yahoo(dot)com
