Christmas Cocoa #GIVEAWAY

Robbie Jordan here, from Maddie Day's Country Store Mysteries.

I know it's only October, but don't your thoughts turn to hot cocoa and reading under a blanket by the fire when the weather turns colder? Mine do.

When Christmas rolls around, I love to decorate my country store, Pans 'N Pancakes, with lots of lights, greenery, and a tree hung with my eclectic collection or ornaments. This year I decided to make up packets of a Mexican hot chocolate mix to sell, and they were super popular. We served the cocoa in the store, and people picked up packets as stocking stuffers.

Too bad a customer died when he was out walking his chocolate lab puppy named Cocoa. I was upset when the state police detective arrived and confiscated all my packets, but what could I do?

And when my darling boyfriend Abe's father was suspected in the death, I went to work to discover the truth.

My author wrote up the story of what happened in her novella, "Christmas Cocoa and a Corpse," and she says she'll gladly send a signed hardcover copy of the collection, Christmas Cocoa Murder, to one of you! Both the other novellas are great reads, too, by my author pals Carlene O'Connor and Alex Erickson.

Readers: How do you like your hot chocolate? What do you like to add to it?

  4. I like my hot chocolate the way my Mom always fixed it for me. She would make it in a small pot on the stove with milk and Hersheys chocolate. It was always the right temp and had a creamy chocolate taste. I would love yo read this book.

  6. I like it as is. No whipped cream, no milk. Every once in a while I will put a Hershey kiss on the bottom to add a layer of chocolate to it.

  7. Love my cocoa in a big mug and sitting in front of the fireplace with a good book. I'll drink just about any cocoa straight or with flavors like peppermint added in. However, if given a choice, I'll take it homemade with a splash of cream in the mixture simmered not boiled and some fresh whipped cream on top with a sprinkling of shaved chocolate added but in a hurry I would take marshmallows on top.

Can't wait for the opportunity to read "Christmas Cocoa Murder". Thank you for the opportunity to win not only a copy, but a signed hardcover copy!
