Fredericksburg Holidays

by Lily Vale, employee at Tally’s Olde Tyme Sweets
from the upcoming Vintage Sweets series by Kaye George

I wonder if other places are as fun as my home town for the holidays. Maybe not. I mean, this is considered a tourist town, my folks always say. They even got so tired of the tourists being here, they moved away not long ago! Not me. No way.

All that hustle and bustle—I love it! The air is full of energy and it seems to seep into me, too. I even like to stroll the streets, jostling through the crowds on the sidewalks, absorbing it.

Something kind of exciting happened yesterday. I went out at noon for my lunch and ran into—literally ran into—Raul Fuentes, who works in the basket shop next to the Tally’s Olde Tyme Sweets (what a mouthful of a name). He apologized, when it was my fault. So I apologized back, then he insisted he had to apologize. We went on that way until I thought I might not have time for lunch. But I did.

We ended up going to lunch together. I hope it happens again. I think he’s awfully cute. I don’t know why I never noticed that before.

My author, Kaye George, wants you to know that the first two books in the Vintage Candy series, REVENGE IS SWEET and DEADLY SWEET TOOTH, can both be pre-ordered. Zip over to:
(paperbacks to follow)
