Thanksgiving plus a Season's Readings #Bookgiveaway!

Characters:     Savannah Webb
Title:              Down in Flames (Book #6)
Series:           Webb’s Glass Shop Mysteries
Author:          Cheryl Hollon
Website:         www.cherylhollon.com

Hi there. I'm Savannah, owner of both Webb's Glass Shop and Webb's Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida. Cool weather has finally arrived in downtown St. Petersburg and I'm grateful.

The bead making class I'm teaching uses powerful bench-mounted torches that transform glass rods into beads and medallions. My electric bill is happy that I can reduce the significant level of air-conditioning required to keep everyone in the class from melting into drippy puddles.

This new class reminds me that Webb's Glass Shop has undergone quite a few changes since I took over from my dad early this year. I've expanded the original store to add the lampworking classroom. I've started Webb's Studio over in the Warehouse District to give intermediate and professional glass students an affordable space so that they need to explore their creativity.

My next challenge is to teach a mosaic class. It should be well attended since I'm going to throw in the glass at no cost. This will get rid of some of the buckets of leftover glass that is collecting in every spare corner of the shop. I'll offer a starter kit with a 12" square board or a 8" x 16" paving stone. Students will use mosaic nippers and also learn all about adhesives and grout.

I'm offering a large choice of designs ranging from simple geometric patterns to classical Roman designs.

What new aspect in your life makes you feel grateful?

About Down in Flames:

A fatal hit-and-run in front of Savannah Webb's glass shop proves to be no accident. . .

A highlight of Savannah's new glass bead workshop is a technique called flame-working, which requires the careful wielding of acetylene torches. Understandably, safety is a top priority. But as Savannah is ensuring her students' safety inside, a hit-and-run driver strikes down a pedestrian outside her shop.

The victim is Nicole Borawski, the bartender/manager at the Queen's Head Pub, owned by Savannah's boyfriend Edward. It quickly becomes clear that this was no random act of vehicular manslaughter. Now the glass shop owner is all fired up to get a bead on the driver--before someone else meets a dead end . . .

  6. The biggest change in recent years was selling out, downsizing and packing up lock, stock and barrel to move to our dream destination - the Ozark Mountains. I'm now very grateful we did that 3 years ago because with declining physical abilities it would be very hard to do now. We are enjoying our new home and still love it here. I'm grateful for a hard working husband who had to forethought to plan for our retirement and worked hard to achieve it. We aren't rich, but we are comfortable because neither of us are ones to buy new when the old works just fine. With my slowly declining physical abilities, I am extremely grateful that this year we were able to take a trip to some of this national wonderful parks and to see some of God's amazing creations. When you start to lose your mobility or have physical difficulties, it makes you appreciate what you still have all the more. I give thanks every day for what I'm still able to do and that I'm able to still go. My desire is that if or when it comes to where I'm sitting on our front porch not able to do these things any more that I can smile and recall the sweet memories we made and not be thinking "I wish I had". So as long as God sees me able, I will do and go making more memories for a lifetime and for that I'm very grateful.

Love the Webb’s Glass Shop Mysteries series and can't wait for the opportunity to read "DOWN IN FLAMES". Fabulous giveaway that will make someone extremely happy. Thank you for the chance! Shared and fingers crossed.

  13. I'm grateful for the chances I was blessed with when I was a child. When I was a child, my father and mother would load us all in our big station wagon with a camp cook stove and a cooler and we would go on our way. We'd eat our breakfast and lunch along the side of the road and dinner was a treat each night. We slept in a motel each night. In later years we had a camper. I got to see many sites from Arizona to Florida to New York and all the states along the way. robeader53(at)yahoo(dot)com

  23. Not much new going on in my life, but sometimes what matters the most isn't what has just come into your life. The thing I'm most grateful for? My mother. Today, tomorrow, and every day. She is the most important person in my life and it means so much to me that she's still here despite car accidents, health issues, and so much more.

Thanks for the chance to win. robbfan141729(at)yahoo(dot)com
