It's Christmas Eve! A new character has a #giveaway

Character:      Miranda Trent
Title:              Still Knife Painting (Book #1)
Series:           Paint & Shine Mysteries
Author:          Cheryl Hollon
Website:         www.cherylhollon.com

Happy Holidays! I'm Miranda Trent, new owner of Paint & Shine, a brand new business. It 's a newfangled type of cultural touring business set in Eastern Kentucky right smack dab in the middle of the Daniel Boone National Forest. It's only been about a month ago now that I inherited my uncle's farmhouse along with forty acres, some outbuildings, a spring-fed well, and a weathered tobacco barn.

The barn represents my dream vision for a moonshine distillery. Of course, that barn has been a problem since my first day at the farmhouse. It's old and needs a lot of work to upgrade it to support the heavy equipment, water flow, and sanitary conditions required.

The plan for my business is to take clients up into the Natural Bridge State Park on a hiking trail so they can paint one of the spectacular overlooks as a group activity. Then, we'll all have a traditional southern meal in the farmhouse dining room with each course paired with a moonshine cocktail. Thus the inspiration for the name of my business: Paint & Shine.

Eventually, I will serve those cocktails from the secret moonshine recipes that I believe my uncle hid on the property. That shine has a legendary reputation for being the best in these hills. I haven't found them yet, but I'm sure that I can.

What part of my tour interests you the most? The painting on a woodland trail, the traditional southern meal cooked in the farmhouse, or the moonshine tasting?

About  Still Knife Painting:

Miranda Trent has set up a sweet life in a scenic corner of Appalachia--until she stumbles across the trail of a killer . . .

After inheriting her uncle's Red River Gorge homestead in Eastern Kentucky--smack dab in the middle of the Daniel Boone National Forest--Miranda comes up with a perfect business plan for summer tourists, pairing outdoor painting classes with sips of local moonshine, followed by a mouthwatering sampler of the best in southern cooking.

To Miranda's delight, Paint & Shine is a total success--until someone kills the cook. As the town's outsider, suspicion naturally falls on Miranda. Murdering the best biscuit baker of Red River Gorge is a high crime in these parts. Miranda will have to prove her innocence before she's moved from farmhouse to jail cell faster than she can say "white lighting" . . .

Naturally, my Webb's Glass Shop Mysteries are still available with more to come!

  2. It all sounds fabulous especially together. I'm a horrible artist, but I'd love to photograph what others are painting. Being a southern gal, I can tell you there's nothing better than a well prepared southern meal. It would be interesting to be able to taste some different drink combinations too. If force to pick just one, since I love photography, live in the south and are privy to southern cooking and not take big a drinker, I would have to pick the painting on a trail to enjoy both the hike and the beauty along the way and at the final destination.

Thank you for the opportunity to win a wonderful giveaway package.

May you have the merriest of Christmas' and the happiest of new years!
