It's tough being a cover model!

BY ROWENA, cute feline in the MAIL CARRIER COZY MYSTERY SERIES (Tonya Kappes)

It's not easy being so cute. Trust me when I say it takes a lot of beauty sleep to look this good. In the beginning, after Bernadette's husband died and she got me, well, lets just say we slept a lot. She use to curl up in her bed or on the couch with a nice blanket. Sometimes she'd cry and sometimes she'd laugh, but she always talked to me and told me stories.

Then...she took a job! She took her old job. Mail Carrier. Do you know what kind of hours a mail carrier keeps??? I mean come on! I am alone all day and when she does come home early, I've got to share her with her best friend, Iris.
Okay...Iris isn't so bad. She does own a bakery and she makes me special cat treats. But still...Bernadette doesn't nearly snuggle as much as she use to and she never cries anymore.

To make things worse, as if they couldn't get any worse, she brings home a dog! I feel a little bad for the dog since his owner was murdered, but I feel worse for Bernadette because Bernadette found him on her mail route and he left her this dog!

Then things do go from worse to plain ole horrible! Bernadette lets that mangy mutt go to work with her and deliver the mail. Do you think she lets me go? Nope!

There is a sunny side. Bernadette has decided to look into her customer's murder and left a big piece of paper on the table. I love laying on paper, so I'll just lay here on the paper and what for her and that mangy mutt to come home....

Puuuuurrrrrrr....

For a chance to win  print and signed copy of Stamped Out, the first book in the Mail Carrier Cozy Mystery, tell me in the comments if you like to listen to audio books. We are very excited that the entire series and forthcoming books have sold to audio!

  1. I'm an extremely visual person and need to see things to retain. Listening is difficult and I don't retain. It's often white noise. So I don't listen to books. Thanks for the chance.

  4. I have listened to a few on long drives, but my stops are never at the right time with the action in the book, and it's hard to catch up when I start again. However, my taste in books is not the same as others in the car, so I usually don't. I do like to hear a good character reader read the story … then, when I read the book, I can hear his/her voice better.

  6. I have a couple audio books, but honestly haven't found the time to listen to them. When I sit down to read, the physical turning of the pages and actually reading the words intrigue my interest and keep me turning pages. Usually when I sit down, it's to take a break or after a long day of trying to "get 'r' done". I fear that an audio book would be like watching TV and that I would uncontrollably doze off. I thought I could listen to one on a trip, but I'm not the only one in the car and conversation takes first seat to me.

Can't wait for the opportunity to read "Stamped Out" which is definitely on my TBR list. Thank you for the chance to win a copy! Shared and hoping to be the fortunate one.

    Have a great week!

  9. I used to when my job had me in the car most of the day. Now I like books better so I can write down all the characters' names with brief descriptions to help me remember them better. As my vision gets worse I will probably go back to audiobooks. Hi, Rowena! ckmbeg (at) gmail (dot) com
