GIVEAWAY! HAVE A TOTE!

By Sassy Cabot from the Read ’Em and Eat Mysteries by Terrie Farley Moran

I hope you had a Happy Valentine’s Day! Our fabulous local veterinarian, Dr. Cynthia Mays, held a “Find Your Sweetheart” adoption party at the clinic. Bridgy and I chipped in some refreshments and I am proud to tell you that five dogs and seven cats found their fur-ever homes at the event. Not bad for a tiny gulf-side town like Fort Myers Beach.

What a happy day!

Aunt Ophie and Augusta Maddox had a surprise for each of the new fur families. They made tote bags with the name of our new mystery readers club on the front so the families could use them to carry the food and toys their newest family member would enjoy.

And, of course they made an extra one for one lucky reader. For a chance to win please comment below. You might want to tell us the name of one of your pets, past or present. Don't forget to leave your email addy using this format NAME (AT) SERVER (DOT) COM to avoid the spambots. Giveaway ends at midnight your time on Saturday, February 22nd.

And if you want to spend more time with me, Bridgy and the gang at the cafĂ©, you can always visit us in the Read ’Em and Eat books: Well Read, Then Dead, Caught Read-Handed and Read to Death.

  21. Our family is owned by two male inside felines, Romeo Luigi and Ralphie Lee. We also have been adopted by three ferals, two female and one male. Ringo and Raggedy Lynn are brother and sister and Violet is Ringo's lady. Thankfully they are all neutered. We had 12 kittens at one time last summer. Missy aka Raggedy Lynn, a first time mom, had her litter in a terrible rain storm and didn't know what to do so I had to help her. The five babies were all still linked by the placenta. They all were adopted thankfully by several good samaritans.

  22. I love to have rescue pets, The one most dear was a mix breed Australian Cattle dog and Red Heeler. A woman found her and her sister and mother dog whom was dead in a dumpster, was cold and raining that day. She was going into a convenience store and heard whimpering, she found the puppies and I found Bella at a Pet's Mart adoption event when she was 6 months old. She was huddled in that back of a pen shaking. I knew I had to rescue her. I had her for 15 years. She was always afraid of storms. She was so appreciative of the littlest things I would do for her or the little treats I gave her, she was s gentle. She passed this last May. I miss her everyday. thank you for the giveaway. queenvictoria50 (@) aol (dot) com

  28. I have two cats. My newest cat was a feral that showed up at my house 3 days after my 18 year old cat died. I knew from the moment I saw her she had to be mine. She's the most beautiful cat I've ever seen. I spent months trying to tame her, which was progressing well; then she was attacked and required surgery. After that, she was forced to live in the house. Fast forward a year, and she's my lap cat and cuddle buddy. Her name is Baby. JL_Minter(at)hotmail(dot)com
