Wine Time #Giveaway

by Mel Langston
From Sparkle Abbey's Pampered Pets Mystery Series

Well, I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in my feels the past couple of months. Due to our “new normal for now,” it’s been very different here in our oceanside town. Normally, we’re ramping up for a crash of tourists, but it’s been very quiet. With the beaches closed surfers are MIA, sun worshipers are lounging in their backyards, and beachcombers have turned their attention to digging for lost treasure in their garages. Laguna has felt like a ghost town. Even crime has taken a nosedive. I guess that’s good news, right?

With all this extra time on my hands I’ve been spending my time just like the rest of you—baking bread and drinking wine. I won’t be hailed as a baking guru anytime soon, but I could hold a masterclass for drinking wine! I’ve discovered a number of lovely clean wines (all-natural and additive-free) during lockdown that I’m super excited to share with my friends in person once our lockdown is over.

How about you? Have you discovered any hidden talents lately?

My authors are giving away a copy of Desperate Housedogs from the Pampered Pets Mystery series. Please leave a comment below with your email address to enter. US and CANADA ONLY. Winner will be selected by Wednesday, May 13th.

Sparkle Abbey is actually two people, Mary Lee Woods and Anita Carter, who write the national best-selling Pampered Pets cozy mystery series. They are friends as well as neighbors, so they often get together and plot ways to commit murder. (But don't tell the neighbors.) They love to hear from readers and can be found on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, their favorite social media sites. Also, if you want to make sure you get updates, sign up for their newsletter via the SparkleAbbey.com website.

  1. Baking bread is on my list of projects. I just need to remember to pick up flour next time I'm at the store. Hope mine turns out as well as the one in your picture! mbradeen [at] yahoo [dot] com

  2. I don't think I have any hidden talents but have been trying some new recipes as I'm so tired of the same old menu items. Yesterday, I made home made dinner rolls but admit the dough part was mixed by my bread machine. dbahn(at)iw(dot)net

  8. My hidden talent is taking care of my two young grandsons everyday for 8 hours a day since March 10 and will continue through the summer as well. This is a privilege and I treasure every minute with these wonderful boys. I hope that they will remember all these precious days which are memorable. elliotbencan(at)hotmail(dot)com

  9. I was working full time but my job ended so I am home with my two girls who keep me very busy with our daily schedule of schoolwork, creative activities, baking muffins and cookies, and being active in the backyard. I believe that this is more worthwhile and we celebrate each day together. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com

  11. I'm still working at a nursing home so I haven't had a chance to find out if I have a hidden talent. If I had the time I would at least clean up my dad's old air hockey table and see if it still works after being stored at my grandparents' for umpteen years. And get some books read and crocheting done.
