I Never Imagined . . .

I didn’t.  I could never have imagined that anything like this could happen at my beautiful bed and breakfast.  I’m Betsy Drake and I grew up in Snowflake, Vermont.  I moved away when I was young, but then, when I learned that I had inherited my grandparents’ gorgeous home at the edge of the village, I decided to come back.  It wasn’t what I had planned to do, return home, but you know how it is, life sometimes takes over in funny and strange ways.

So I decided to go into business and open a bed and breakfast.  The Drake House is the only B&B in town, I might add.  It took me a long time and every penny I had to make the needed repairs and restore the house so it could accommodate guests and meals.  I love my home and everybody who’s ever stayed here has praised it.  I’m very proud of my efforts!

There have been lots of problems along the way and lots of fires to put out, and I’ve had much trepidation about certain things, but never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined a murder under my roof!  It’s a good thing I never anticipated something like that, because if I had, I might never have come back to town.
I know the murder rate is a little high in our village, but my home, my bed and breakfast, has always been a very safe place to be.  Best I can hope for is there’s little or no publicity that involves The Drake House now that A Clue in the Stew is out!

I don’t know how I’ll ever recover.  I just hope that Nate Edgerton, our Chief of Police, solves this crime fast.

I think I’m going to have a good cry now.

You can visit my author, Connie Archer, at her website, Facebook or Twitter @Snowflake, VT.
Please have a word with her about all these murders!

    1. Happy Friday to you too, Sally! Actually, considering the population of Snowflake, the murder rate is astronomical!!!
